Can I pause my subscription in the off-season?

No — we don't offer pause. Annual is already steeply discounted and works out cheaper than 4 months of monthly billing, so most installers just go annual and treat it as a tool subscription rather than a utility. Cancel anytime if you need to step away; your designs stay yours, viewable forever.

What happens to my designs if I downgrade or my trial ends?

Every design you've created stays yours, forever. You can view, export, and share them — you just can't create new designs or use AI features until you're on a paid plan again. We never delete or hold your work hostage.

Can my team share access on one plan?

Accepted Answer

Operator includes 5 team seats out of the box, with extra seats at $19/mo each. Solo and Crew are single-seat plans — sharing logins works technically, but each seat gets its own design history, designs are private to the seat that created them, and concurrent sessions can collide on auto-save. If two or more people on your team are designing regularly, jump to Operator.

What can I do during the 7-day trial?

Everything Operator-tier paying customers can do — branded quotes, white-label exports, multi-page designs, AI scene previews, all of it. You also get a daily credit allotment that prorates the Operator monthly grant across the trial window. The only thing the trial doesn't include is the ability to add team seats (no point during a 7-day window).

Can I import designs from another tool?

No — there's no formal importer, because the other design tools in this category (Strandr, Holiday Home Concepts, Photoshop, spreadsheets) don't export to a common format that maps cleanly onto Lumineer's drawing model. New designs in Lumineer start from a fresh photo. Most installers find re-doing a representative design in Lumineer takes about 5-10 minutes and the result is more accurate than what they had before — which is the right side-by-side trial anyway.

Will my price change later?

Accepted Answer

Annual plans lock the price you signed up at for 12 months. Monthly plans can change with at least 60 days notice — but if we ever raise prices, existing monthly subscribers stay at their current rate through the end of their current billing period and get the upgrade option to lock annual at the old rate. We've kept Lumineer prices stable since launch.

Does the AI scene preview look realistic to clients?

It's the same photo of their actual house — just with the lights you designed rendered into a night scene. Most installers report clients say "yes" 30-50% faster when they see the preview vs. trying to describe it.

Do I need to learn CAD or 3D modeling?

Accepted Answer

No. You upload a photo, draw lines along the rooflines, fill shrubs by tracing a boundary. If you can use a marker on a printed photo, you can use Lumineer. Average first design takes about 5 minutes.

How does the 7-day trial work?

Accepted Answer

Your trial starts at 7 days. Each time you complete a meaningful action — finishing your first design, trying the AI scene changer, sharing a design link — you earn an extra day, up to a 14-day cap. The pill in your dashboard nav shows the next action that'll earn you another day.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

You can keep designing — drawing, materials list, exports all stay unlocked. AI features (scene changer, auto-trace) require credits. Your monthly credit pool refills on the 1st of each month, or you can buy a 100-credit pack for $19 (never expires).

Does Lumineer work for permanent lighting installs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The drawing tools and bulb library cover both holiday seasonal installs and year-round permanent lighting. Designs save with the project so you can revisit a house when the customer asks for changes.
