Decorations — Wreaths, Bows, and More

Decorations let you place non-light elements on your design — wreaths, bows, deer, trees, and other holiday accessories. They sit on top of the house photo alongside your lights.

Place a decoration

Switch to the Decoration tool — Press D or click "Decor" in the toolbar.
Open the Decorations tab in the sidebar — it shows a grid of available decorations organized by category.
Click a decoration in the grid — it's placed at the center of your current canvas view.
Drag it into position on the house photo.

Browse by category

The Decorations tab has five category buttons at the top:

Click a category to filter the grid.

Move, resize, and rotate

Once placed, decorations are interactive:

Move — Click and drag the decoration to reposition it anywhere on the canvas.
Resize — When selected, four corner handles appear. Drag any corner to scale the decoration up or down. Scaling is always proportional (it won't stretch or squish).
Rotate — Use the rotation handle (above the decoration when selected) to rotate it.

Layer ordering

Decorations stack with your light strands. If a decoration overlaps a strand, you can control which is on top using layer ordering:

Cmd+Shift+] — Bring to front
Cmd+Shift+[ — Send to back
Cmd+] — Bring forward one layer
Cmd+[ — Send backward one layer

Tips

Scale decorations down after placing them — they default to 50% size, but you may need to shrink them further to match the scale of your house photo.
Place decorations after calibrating — If you've calibrated the ruler, decorations will visually align better with the scale of your lights.
Decorations export with your design — When you export as PNG or JPG, decorations are included in the final image.

Note: "Upload Custom" is coming soon — you'll be able to upload your own decoration images (PNG or WebP format).
