Lumineer has three paid tiers — Solo, Crew, and Operator — and every account starts with a 7-day trial that can earn up to 7 more days as you build. No credit card required to start the trial.

Annual billing is always 30% off the monthly rate — roughly the same as "4 months free" if you did monthly × 12.
Tip: Most installers pick Crew. It's the "sold a quote to a paying client" tier — you get branded proposals, unlimited pages for HOA and commercial jobs, and the AI helpers when they ship.
How the trial works
Every new account starts with a 7-day trial that has full Operator-tier access, plus a prorated pool of AI credits for the trial window.
You can earn up to 7 extra days by completing any of these milestones. Each one adds one day (to a maximum of 14 total):
- Finish your first design
- Use the AI Scene Changer for the first time
- Upload a photo from a real client job
- Share a design link
- Refer another installer
The trial pill in your dashboard nav shows which milestones you've completed and which are still available.
When the trial expires, your account moves to a read-only state — you can still view and export every design you've created, but you can't create new designs or use AI features until you're on a paid plan.
Note: Your designs never go away. Even after a trial expires or a plan is cancelled, every design you've created stays in your account and is always exportable.
AI credits
AI credits are what pay for AI-powered operations. Today that's the AI Scene Changer — each generation uses 1 credit. When AI Auto-Trace and Light Painter ship, they'll use credits too.
Monthly grant by tier:
- Solo — 25 credits (roughly 13 client quotes with a night preview each)
- Crew — 100 credits (roughly 50 quotes)
- Operator — 400 credits (roughly 200 quotes)
Credits refresh on the first of each month. Unused credits do not roll over.
Dusk is always free
The Dusk preset in the AI Scene Changer uses a programmatic color gradient, not a real AI generation — it's free on every tier and during the trial, and doesn't count against your credits.
Switching between cached scenes is free
Once you've generated a scene (say, Snow at night), you can toggle between it and other generated scenes as many times as you want without using credits. Credits only fire on new generations and regenerations.
Run out of credits? Buy a pack.
If you blow through your monthly credits mid-season, you can buy an add-on pack any time:
- 100 credits — $19
- 500 credits — $79
Credit packs never expire. They stay on your account and are used after your monthly grant runs out.
Buy packs from the credit meter in your dashboard nav (the pill showing your remaining credits).
Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel
- Open your account settings from the dashboard.
- Choose manage billing — this opens Stripe's secure customer portal.
- Switch tiers, change cadence (monthly ↔ annual), update your card, or cancel.
Cancellation keeps your paid access live until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account moves to read-only — every design stays yours and exportable.
Beta installers
If you're part of the founding beta cohort (fewer than 50 installers, grandfathered on invitation), you have free Operator-tier access for life. You'll never see an upgrade prompt or a billing page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pause my subscription in the off-season? No — we don't offer pause. Annual billing is already steeply discounted, so if you use Lumineer during the Oct–Dec run, annual works out cheaper than 4 months of monthly. If you need to step away, cancel — your designs stay yours, and you can reactivate any time.
What happens to my designs if I downgrade or cancel? Every design stays in your account, viewable and exportable forever. You only lose the ability to create new designs or use AI features until you're on a paid plan again.
Can I try Crew or Operator features during the trial? Yes — the trial runs at Operator-tier access, so every feature (branded PDFs, unlimited pages, white-label, etc.) is unlocked during your 7–14 days.
Does the team-seat limit on Operator stop me from having crew leads run Lumineer? Operator includes 5 seats. Extra seats are $19/mo each. Solo and Crew are single-seat tiers — for a multi-crew operation, Operator is the intended fit.
Are payments secure? Yes — Stripe handles every payment and card. Lumineer never sees or stores your card number.
